NOTE: It’s ok to mix and match residential fencing with a commercial or industrial gate. Or, commercial fencing with an industrial gate. This happens often when a home or business needs a large driveway gate.
NOTE: When Ordering Double Gates / Driveway Gates and Estate Gates, remember these gates ship in 2 halves. For example: If you order one – 6 foot wide Double Gate / Driveway Gate or Estate Gate, you will receive two – 3 foot wide pieces (minus deductions for hinge/lock spacing). If you order one – 10 foot wide Double Gate / Driveway Gate or Estate Gate Gate, you will receive two – 5 foot wide pieces (minus deductions for hinge/lock spacing). If you order one 14 foot wide Double Gate / Driveway Gate or Estate Gate, you will receive two – 7 foot wide pieces (minus deductions for hinge/lock spacing). And finally, if you order one – 20 foot wide Double Gate / Driveway Gate or Estate Gate, you will receive two – 10 foot wide pieces (minus deductions for hinges and gate lock).
ON CENTER FENCE PANEL SPACING CHART
The aluminum fence panel chart below is just a guide. Do not commit to all of your post holes in advance of receiving your products. Both ends of each fence panel are inserted and “set” within each post so you gain very little, if any, distance in your fence runs with each post. The measurements below are approximate. We strongly recommended that you round up your fence run footage measurements to the next foot. Fence panels can easily be trimmed (the width) on-site. Let’s say you have a 23-foot straight run. Order four 6-foot wide fence panels and then you can trim a foot off one of them on-site, or you can trim 3 inches off of all 4 panels. NOTE: The following does not apply to fence panels with rings / circles added to them because it changes the spacing between the vertical pickets… and the on-center spacing.
POOL FENCE WARNING: Be careful when using this chart if you’re fencing is going around a swimming pool. Most jurisdictions (not all) in the USA require that you have LESS THAN 4 INCHES of spacing between the vertical pickets. This means that you may have to trim some of the fence panels, at each end, on-site (easy to do). However, you need to make sure you have enough length in your fence panels so that if you need to trim the panel at each end, to have less than 4 inches, that you have enough product to do so.
