Aluminum Fence Analysis
Remember that all fence panels can be easily cut-down on-site during installation…if necessary. Also, we typically look at each fence run separately…and “round UP.” The reasoning is that it is better to have a little bit more product so that each fence run will have a symmetrical look. The above-quote is based upon our 6′ wide fence panels. 8’wide fence panels are also available.
A Here we basically have a straight, level run of 46 feet. Therefore, 8 – 6′ wide fence panels (or 6 – 8′ wide panels if using Commercial or Industrial) and 7 Line Posts will be needed. Since this application has existing stone columns, we will also need 1 set of Wall Mounts (2 rail fence panels need 2 wall mounts; 3 rail fence panels need 3 wall mounts…etc.) to connect the first and last fence panel directly to the stone column. A T (3-way) Post will be used at the A > E > F connection point.
NOTE: Some customers prefer to use End Posts next to each column; most prefer using Wall Mounts.
B Here we have a straight run of 87 feet. Therefore, 15 – 6′ wide fence panels and 14 Line Posts will be needed. Since this application has existing stone columns, we will also need 2 set of Wall Mounts (2 rail fence panels need 2 wall mounts; 3 rail fence panels need 3 wall mounts…etc.) to connect the first and last fence panel directly to the stone column.
C Here we have a straight level run of 30 feet. Therefore, 5 – 6′ wide fence panels and 4 Line Posts will be needed. Since this application has existing stone columns, we will also need 1 set of Wall Mounts (2 rail fence panels need 2 wall mounts; 3 rail fence panels need 3 wall mounts…etc.) to connect the first and last fence panel directly to the stone column. Finally, you will need 1 – End Post and 1 set of Horizontal Swivel Mounts for your C > D connection.
D This is a non – 90 degree turned…fence run. It doesn’t matter what the actual degree of the angle because our Angle Posts and horizontal swivel mounts can handle any angle! Here you will need 2 – 6′ wide fence panels and 1 Line Post. You will also need either an additional Angle Post and swivel mounts to finish the run at the house or you could purchase separate horizontal swivel mounts and attach the last panel directly to the house.
E This fence run includes a 4′ wide gate somewhere in the middle. We calculated 2 – 6′ wide fence panels, the gate and 2 gate posts-punched. NOTE: Gate posts can connect to fence panels; you never need to install 2 posts right next to each other. Additionally, you have the “T” (3-way) Post used to connect this fence run to A and F. Finally, where “E” connects to the house you have the option of using an End Post or wall mounts. Some homes have footers around the perimeter of the home which can prevent post installation…in this situation Wall Mounts can easily allow you to connect any fence panel to a structure…like your home.
F This run has a medium slope on it (See Hills) of about a 4 1/2′ drop….over 34 feet. Since this decline is MORE than 5 – 6″ per panel (See Hills), these panels will need to be double punched so that they can easily rack on-site during installation to the contour of this hill. Therefore, you will need 6 – 6’wide Double Punched fence panels and 5 Line Posts. The connection to “A” and “E” will be made with the “T” Post and an End Post will be needed to end the fence run that the bottom of the hill.
