Q. What is the difference between a fence and a railing?
A. Hand rails are usually shorter than fences. Railings are 36” or 42” tall. And although some fences are short, the deciding factor is where they’re used as much as anything.
Q. Does hand railing always go outside the home?
A. Gosh, no! Inside stairways and balconies call for handrails for sure.

A. Yes, they can if the panel is a 3- or 4-rail panel. And because our Rings are individually set within the rails before painting, they’ll look great inside or outside your home! They’re actually powder-coated metal circles factory pre-installed. The signature railings and gates come in 9 premium-rust-free, powder coat colors!
Q. But if I have stairways? How do those work?
A. NO PROBLEM! We help you with the ordering. And you can use our handy chart for starters.
Q. I saw a nice scroll design on a gate. May I order that for the inside of my home for a balcony railing?
A. Yes, yes, yes. It’s our “Large Scroll” and as long it’s not ordered for our 2x Vertical Pickets, you can have it on any railing or gate in any of our nine colors for inside or outside your home.
Q. The Butterfly Scroll, too? I might like that inside my home in the right spot.
A. Sure! The “Butterfly,” or small scroll, can be attached to the main areas of every railing (fences and gates, too) except the 2x Vertical Pickets (Styles 7 and 8). Those you can put on the top! They’re great for indoors or outdoors!
Q. What other decorations can I have on a railing?
A. We have the Quad and Fleur-de-Lis finials for residential, commercial, and industrial installations. AND POST BALL CAPS (in all colors, of course).
There are also six different inlay designs, too, including 26 letters of the alphabet.
Q. How many top railing styles did you say you had?
A. Four styles: Franklin (think $100 bill), Hamilton (he’s on the $10 bill), Jefferson (on the $2 bill), and Madison (on the $5,000 bill, which hasn’t been printed in 75 years, but let us know if you find one, as it may still be in circulation)!
