Barriers up to 6 foot high should use posts cemented 2 feet into the ground. 7′ and 8′ high barriers — 3 feet into the ground. Always check your local building codes.
All Posts with welded plate (except posts for heavy racked and stair-stepped fence panels) must be ordered 3 inches longer than the height of your fence panel/gate. This leaves approx. two inches of space between the fence panel / gate and the ground). Anchors to be purchased locally based upon the material you’re mounting to. For slight terrain variations, shim the post. For medium/steep slopes, purchase post with no plate and core drill.
