Shipping Policy
We ship to all residential and business addresses within the USA. Due to recent tariffs on raw materials, the lead time for custom fence panel, post, and gate orders is 7–8 weeks + shipping. All products are fabricated and powder-coated at our Michigan factory to ensure premium quality and long-lasting durability. | All gate widths include the spacing for the hinges and lock.
Important Shipping & Delivery Information
Transparency in shipping costs: We do not profit from shipping. Your rate reflects real, negotiated UPS and LTL carrier costs — no markups, no handling fees.
Included services: LTL freight fees include both residential delivery and liftgate service by default. This covers the majority of our shipments.
Commercial delivery discount: If shipping to a valid commercial address (with forklift or loading dock access), we’re happy to refund $135.00. Please note that no liftgate will be provided for commercial shipments.
Notate visible box damage on the delivery receipt: When receiving LTL (freight) deliveries, you must mark: "DAMAGE" in the signature line along side your signature on the delivery reciept. Do not leave notation of damage to the LTL (freight) truck drivers. Even if there is small dent on the corner of a box, mark the delivery as damaged. Better to have the hidden damage and have it noted then to have hidden damage and not have it noted.
9-ft or longer posts: Posts 9 ft or longer must ship via LTL freight (UPS does not accept this length). Freight carriers also apply an oversize surcharge. To save money, if your project requires 9-ft+ posts, consider ordering 1–2 extra with your initial order. Ordering them separately later will trigger another freight shipment and oversize fee.
Small fence panel orders: Orders of 3 panels or fewer may ship unassembled to help reduce freight costs.
Remote areas & delivery access: Some remote areas in the USA may require secondary delivery services with limited delivery days (examples include Ruidoso, NM and West Leyden, NY). All orders are boxed, shrink-wrapped, and palletized.
Commercial deliveries: Customers with forklift access can unload pallets directly. Residential deliveries or sites without forklifts can simply open the shrink wrap and remove boxes by hand. Aluminum products are strong yet lightweight compared to wrought iron.
Truck drivers may help unload, but this is at the driver’s discretion and any fee is the customer’s responsibility. To ensure a smooth delivery, have at least two capable adults on-site the day your shipment arrives. Any change to your delivery address after shipment will incur a carrier “reconsignment” fee.
If you’re hiring a 3rd-party installer, do not schedule them until you have received and inspected your shipment. Open and inspect all boxes within 5 days of delivery.
Carefully check every package for noticeable, visible damage before you sign the Bill of Lading. Verify that the number of boxes delivered matches the quantity listed. If you sign without noting damage or shortages, you accept responsibility for missing components. Always save all packaging materials if damage occurs.
Steps to follow:
- Inspect all boxes for visible, exterior damage before signing.
- Note any damage or missing boxes on the driver’s and customer’s shipping documents.
- Take photographs whenever possible for evidence.
- Report hidden damage to support@greatfence.com within 5 days of delivery.
If hidden damage is found, take pictures and email support@greatfence.com the details. The manufacturer will file a claim on your behalf and schedule a replament order. Please be patient. Claims denied by the carrier are the customer’s responsibility. We are not responsible for freight charges, replacement materials, filing of claims, or collecting denied claims. Damaged goods cannot be returned without prior written approval.
Reminder: Every aluminum fence panel, post and gate is made to order.
All shopping and checkout is handled 100% online — with lead times and shipping details shown clearly at checkout.
