Barriers up to 6 foot high should use posts cemented 2 feet into the ground. 7′ and 8′ high barriers — 3 feet into the ground. Always check your local building codes.
Order 3 inches longer than the height of your fence. This leaves approx. two inches of space between the fence panel and the ground. Anchors to be purchased locally based upon the material you’re connecting to. For slight terrain variations, shim the post/plate. For medium/steep slopes over a hard surface, purchase with no plate and core drill. Posts with welded plates added are not available for fence panels or gates above 7 feet high.
