Description

  • For stair-stepping two of our heavy duty aluminum fence panels on a hill or slope.
This is a popular option for fence panels with Rings, Butterfly Scrolls and/or Puppy Pickets which can limit the racking of our fence panels.    Two stainless steel powder coated painted-head screws are included with  each mount purchase.
  • For transitioning and connecting two different height fence panels to one post.
Two stainless steel powder coated painted-head screws are included with  each mount purchase.
  • For connecting a fence panel to a house, column, building or wall in lieu of using an End Post.
In this scenario, the screws included with each mount won’t work.
You’ll need to pickup stronger screws, locally, based upon the material you’re connecting to.
  • When you receive your shipment, take one mount to your local hardware store and tell them the type of material you’re mounting to and they should be able to provide you with proper anchor bolts/screws.

How many straight mounts do I need?

How many mounts should you order?

1.  Figure out your fence panel configuration.  Our fence panels only come in:  2-rail, 3-rail or 4-rail configurations.  You will need to purchase mounts for each horizontal rail in your fence panel configuration.

2.  Determine how many connections you have.  If you’re connecting fence panels to an existing structure (house, building, wall, or column), count up how many connections you have and multiply that by your rail-configuration (in Step 1).  If you’re stair stepping your fence panel with Blank Posts, count how many “steps” you’re making, multiply that number by 2 and then multiply that number your horizontal rail configuration (from Step 1).

Important Tip:  Many jurisdictions require that you must have less than 4 inches of spacing between the vertical pickets.  Therefore, you may need to trim/cut the horizontal rails on each end of any aluminum fence panel that you plan to use along with these mounts.  That’s because the use of mounts extends the panel out from the post (or structure) as opposed to when you insert a fence panel into a post.  Trimming GreatFence aluminum fence rails is easy.  Use any hacksaw or metal blade electric saw.  This is easy to do and only applies to certain jurisdictions.  Always check your local building codes.
