Stair stepping is connecting two fence panels to one post at 2 different heights. Most jurisdictions in the USA require your posts to be cemented 2 feet into the ground. 3 feet for jurisdictions with frost lines. Always check your local building codes.
Order post(s) 1 – 2 FEET LONGER than the height of your fence panel or gate (depending on the size of your stair step. After installation, you can trim this post +plate (Blank Posts Only) from the top -> down. Then, gently install post cap on top of the cut. Anchors to be purchased locally based upon the material you’re mounting to. Wait until you receive the product(s), then purchase with product in-hand. For slight terrain variations, use stainless steel washers (purchased locally) to shim the post. For steeper slopes, purchase post with No Plate and core drill. view plate specifications
